A few words about dysentery

Hi, everyone!

Sorry I haven’t updated the blog in a while. I was laid up with dysentery for a week.

I won’t bore you or gross you out with the details. I will just say these two things:

1) Wash your hands often while traveling. Especially after handling produce at the market or grocery store.

2) Dysentery is unpleasant. Don’t get it.

I’ll post next about Lake Titicaca and the fascinating people who live on floating reed islands there. See you soon!

YIKES!!! Hope you are ok. I ran into Debbie at the chili cook-off (sorry to mention “chili”). She said she was on her way to visit you. Hope she did not get it, too!

I was just thinking about you. We just got back from a 2-wk cruise through the Panama Canal. First stop was Cartagena. Looking at your pics & reading your blogs beforehand gave me a different perspective on things. However, some of my pics might make one a little dizzy. I like the way you took slanted pics. However, some of mine were a bit too slanted. Was just looking at them when your blog came through.

    Stay safe…..and well!

Yikes! I had no idea people still got that! I hope you’re feeling better now.

On a side note, I really want to play Oregon Trail now.

LOL I’d forgotten about Oregon Trail. No wonder we all think of dysentery as fatal!

Debbie did NOT get sick (I take risks with the food myself, but I’m very careful about feeding my visitors!) and we had an AWESOME time.

Isn’t Cartagena lovely? I hope you had a wonderful time! A photographer friend taught me to tilt my camera, but it is a tricky balance sometimes.
